Job Introduction
** At Saga we’re radically flexible which means our colleagues have total autonomy over where they work – home, hybrid or hub. This role has a hybrid element which means our team come together when we need to collaborate.
Our people are everything to us. The way they deliver exceptional experiences every day for our customers, for their colleagues. The way they own what they do. Their 'Why's it like that?' curiosity. How they always think of others and work together to get things done. For us, for you, make do will never do. Good enough? Not even close. Come and do the best work of your life alongside lovely colleagues. Come to Saga.
And right now, we are looking for an Internal Communications and Engagement Executive to become an integral member of the Saga Travel Group People Team. You will develop and deliver a holistic communication and engagement strategy for the Saga Travel Group (STG). The role will require a creative and imaginative approach to storytelling: scoping and overseeing the delivery of campaigns, change programmes, colleague engagement strategies, key announcements, colleague communications and related events.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the STG internal communications strategy to drive colleague engagement and business results.
- Lead the communication of the STG strategy by working closely with the Leadership Team to position key messages and change initiatives.
- Drafting/ editing of key leadership team communications.
- Supporting people managers and leaders to engage their teams, including creating and facilitating a focussed plan to tell the story of how the Saga Travel Group is transforming, and their critical role in delivering on our strategy.
- Creating engaging communication content including videos, infographics and online imagery.
- Working with the STG Learning team to create content to be communicated out to head office and overseas colleagues.
- Ownership of the STG Workplace Group to develop exciting and relevant content for STG colleagues.
- Supporting our ‘radically flexible’ approach to work, including helping to create and deliver exceptional hybrid and in person events for Saga Travel Group colleagues.
- Influence colleague engagement and culture, as well as pride in working at STG to ensure values-led delivery of exceptional experiences.
- Working closely with all parts of the Saga Travel Group and wider Saga people organisation to support alignment with the overall People and Culture strategy.
- Managing and developing our internal communication channels, and inputting into how we can leverage external communication channels, continuously monitoring and improving their effectiveness using data and insight.
The Ideal Candidate
- An understanding of the drivers of Colleague engagement in business and a pragmatic approach to building plans and activities to improve engagement.
- Experience of planning and delivering internal communications strategies to build a culture of transparent communication.
- Creative and able to think of new and innovative ways to communicate and engage with our Colleagues.
- Effective interpersonal, management and communication skills, including the ability to write and present cogent, professional communications to all kinds of Colleague audiences.
- Experience of working cross functionally and project managing across various functions in a Divisional business.
- Digital and design skills including proficiency in Microsoft 360 (Publisher and PowerPoint).
- A passion for travel!
