…And right now, we are looking for a Lead Azure Application Developer to work in our Travel IT department at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products.  

You will be responsible for leading other developers, as well as designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions to deliver world class technology operations for our systems and services through excellent operational focus on system stability, security, performance, and reliability.

Main Responsibilities

  • Building and modifying software applications in line with Business needs and requirements. 

  • Integrating software components and third-party applications. 

  • Ensuring any deliveries are of high quality and any development side testing is complete. 

  • Working collaboratively with other Technology professionals to deliver technology programmes, projects and workstreams. 

  • Ensuring deliveries are secure, in line with best practice and aligned to policy. 

  • Creating and maintaining technical documents. 

  • Remaining up to date with development best practice. 

  • Assisting with troubleshooting systems and work collaboratively to resolve and prevent any defects, risk, or issues. 

  • Providing technical expertise. 

  • Performance managing Application developers. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Communication skills. 

  • Knowledge of coding languages and frameworks relevant to area. 

  • Agile development methodologies. 

  • Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies. 

  • An eye for detail and identifying problems. 

  • Performance management. 

  • Application development leadership. 

  • Good education background ideally to a degree level.  

  • Record of accomplishment of successful delivery. 

  • Design, develop and implement technical solutions in Microsoft Azure environments using .NET (Azure Logic Apps, Azure WEB/API Apps). 

  • Develop event-based and message-based solutions with connectivity to third party services and develop solutions for Azure storage. 

  • Experience in assessing best Azure solution considering cost, scalability, security, and redundancy. 

  • Experience in SQL Server development. 

  • Working knowledge of security best practices and controls in Azure, app/user authentication. 

  • Working knowledge of UI frameworks (Angular). 

  • Experience in Devops concepts such as CI and CD, and knowledge of tools such as Azure Devops.
