…And right now, we are looking for an Hotel Superintendent at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products.  In this role you will be responsible in playing a key role in delivering a first-class hotel operation to our customers and be responsible for ensuring the ongoing appearance, upkeep and through life management of General Public Areas, Entertainment Spaces, Cabins and Crew Recreation areas of our vessel 

You will be integral to ensuring that each one of our customers experience the high standards of quality and service that they have come to expect from us.

Main Responsibilities

Your top 5 responsibilities will be:   

  • Ownership of all ship support, risk management and maintenance of Brand standards on-board 

  • Provide world class facilities maintenance support working closely with the on-board teams and Technical Managers ashore 

  • Planning, preparation, coordination and project management for ship passenger facing areas for refits, dry and wet docks within the Hotel and Crew areas 

  • Project management of all works completed on-board from initiation to final evaluation post project 

  • Asset management plan for major hotel and facilities assets 

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • A talented senior manager, preferably with a proven track record of working in the cruise industry, either on or off shore 

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering projects on time and within budget 

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills 

  • Externally referenced and focussed on continuously seeking professional development – to ensure that Saga’s approach to hotel operations is both relevant and future proof 

  • Project management experience preferred 

  • Strong commerciality and business acumen 

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills 

  • Demonstrable IT proficiency (Microsoft Office essential) 

  • A talented and proven people manager, who can lead and influence a diverse and remote work-force 

  • Demonstrated FF&E management 

  • Strong knowledge of SOLAS, Flag and Class requirements 

  • Good knowledge of vessel construction such as VSP (USPHS) – preferred 

  • Flexibility to travel as required 

Education and Qualifications: 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or qualified by experience
